Job Description

About LvlUp Ventures

\n

LvlUp Ventures is the #7 most active venture capital firm globally (PitchBook) and #3 most active in the United States (LSEG). LvlUp has backed 1,000+ startups to date and reviews 25,000+ startup applications a year across its funds and accelerators. Our model goes beyond capital: we work hands-on with founders to help them scale faster.

\n

The Opportunity

\n

LvlUp is as much an operating firm as an investing one: alongside its funds, it runs accelerators, workshops and events for founders. As it grows, it faces big challenges, like finding the right startups at scale or filling those workshops and events.

\n

The Innovation Pod is a new team LvlUp is building to take on challenges like these across the whole firm. You'd be one of its first interns.

\n

We're hiring just 4 to 5 part-time Growth & Innovation Interns for Winter/Spring 2027 to join the pod. Your team lead is Jack Wosk, who works with LvlUp's leadership on the pod's challenges, and you'll learn alongside LvlUp's full-time staff. This is an operating role, not busywork or a banking-style analyst job. You'll work on how LvlUp grows, including how it finds startups, but you won't decide which ones it invests in.

\n

The pod needs two kinds of people:

\n
    \n
  • Idea people spot what could work better and design creative fixes.
  • \n
  • Master executors are analytical. They run the plan and use the numbers to keep improving it.
  • \n
\n

How the Innovation Pod Works

\n
    \n
  • Find the challenge. Leadership brings the pod its biggest pain points, and idea people spot new ones.
  • \n
  • Design the fix. The pod researches the challenge and turns the best idea into a plan.
  • \n
  • Launch fast. A first version goes live instead of waiting for a perfect one.
  • \n
  • Measure and improve. The pod tracks results from day one, keeps what works and changes what doesn't.
  • \n
  • Scale, then repeat. When a fix works, the pod scales it and picks up the next challenge.
  • \n
\n

What You'll Do

\n

Most weeks, you'll:

\n
    \n
  • Work with the pod on one growth challenge at a time
  • \n
  • Idea people: study how one part of the firm works, like how it finds startups or fills its events, then pitch a fix backed by research
  • \n
  • Master executors: run the plan, like building lists of people to invite or companies to contact, writing the messages, tracking who responds and fixing what isn't working
  • \n
  • Share results and new ideas at regular pod meetings
  • \n
  • Use AI tools to research faster and launch sooner
  • \n
\n

You're judged on results: fixes that work and numbers that move, like more event sign-ups or more good-fit startups found.

\n

Who We're Looking For

\n

You'll stand out with:

\n
    \n
  • Hustle: you take initiative and finish what you start
  • \n
  • Startup or venture experience: a startup, VC or accelerator internship, private equity portfolio-support work, a project you built with users or revenue, or a startup club or pitch competition you helped run
  • \n
  • One skill you're great at and can prove: marketing, operations, sourcing (finding startups), outreach, events, research, design or building with AI
  • \n
  • No ego: you're a good teammate who takes direction well
  • \n
  • Clear writing and an eye for detail
  • \n
  • A real interest in startups and how a venture firm grows
  • \n
\n

What You Get

\n
    \n
  • Onboarding and training first, then work you own
  • \n
  • Practice with the whole cycle: spotting a problem, testing a fix fast, reading the numbers and scaling what works
  • \n
  • An inside look at how a venture firm finds startups and works with founders
  • \n
  • Mentorship from Jack, plus lunch and learns with the LvlUp team
  • \n
  • Experience you can point to: a fix you helped take from problem to launch, and its results
  • \n
\n

The Details

\n
    \n
  • Remote and part-time, about 20 hours a week, alongside your classes
  • \n
  • Winter/Spring 2027. Start as soon as you're ready, even before January
  • \n
  • All class years are welcome, first-years through graduate students
  • \n
  • No coding required
  • \n
  • Our best interns can move into paid internships or full-time roles, based on performance
  • \n
\n

How to Apply

\n

Apply here with your resume, and tell us whether you're an idea person or a master executor. Not sure? Pick the one your resume proves best. We review applications every day. If you're a fit, you'll have one short interview (10 to 30 minutes), so come ready to talk about LvlUp and bring your questions.

\n
