  • Chicago, IL

Job Description

Job Title: Chapter Content Producer

Department: Experiences

Reports To: Sr. Manager, Experiences

Location: Chicago, IL (3 days in office)

About ASUG: Founded in 1991, Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) is the world’s largest SAP user group, serving 2,300-plus businesses via company-wide memberships. ASUG’s mission is to help people and organizations get the most value from their investments in SAP technology. The Chicago-based organization accomplishes this by connecting and educating people through in-person and virtual events, delivering customer feedback to SAP, and advocating for its members.

Position Summary: The Chapter Producer is responsible for the end-to-end production of an assigned portfolio of chapter meetings. Using approved red threads, story arcs, agenda frameworks, tools, and experience standards, the Chapter Producer translates local member priorities into cohesive agendas, speaker placements, session flows, emcee materials, audience-engagement moments, and clear attendee outcomes. The role maintains production plans and scorecards, coordinates cross-functional handoffs, prepares speakers and emcees from a content perspective, supports delivery readiness, and uses post-event feedback to improve future chapter execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Content Strategy

  • Apply approved red threads, story arcs, agenda frameworks, standards, goals, and portfolio direction to assigned chapter meetings based on local member needs.
  • Recommend and apply the best-fit approved story arc for each assigned chapter, using established decision criteria and escalating material deviations or framework gaps to the Sr. Manager, Experiences.
  • Research SAP ecosystem trends, customer challenges, and member interests to identify relevant topics, speakers, and programming opportunities.
  • Maintain speaker lists that document expertise, presentation history, audience fit, and future opportunities.
  • Track high-performing, repeatable content and recommend where it can be reused or adapted across chapters.
  • Use attendance data, audience feedback, research, and stakeholder input to evaluate content performance and inform future programming.

Content Development Experience

  • Customize approved agenda frameworks into cohesive chapter experiences with clear narratives, session flow, and attendee outcomes.
  • Develop session descriptions, speaker guidance, and content positioning that communicate the purpose and value of each program.
  • Adapt standardized presentations and supporting materials for assigned chapter meetings so they can be delivered by multiple speakers while maintaining approved messaging and quality standards.
  • Train and prepare speakers to deliver approved content in alignment with key messages, audience needs, and intended outcomes.
  • Develop the run of show, emcee script, transitions, audience prompts, Community Conversation guidance, and group share-out moments.
  • Prepare the emcee to connect sessions, engage the audience, facilitate conversation, and capture feedback.
  • Partner with Speaker Support, In-Person Events to communicate expectations and ensure deadlines, presentations, materials, and final slides are ready.
  • Ensure all sessions are educational, relevant, non-commercial where appropriate, and aligned with ASUG’s brand and member experience standards.

Relationship-Building

  • Build and manage productive relationships with chapter volunteers, key SAP contacts, customer speakers, sponsors, emcees, and internal ASUG teams.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Chapter Operations to align promotion, stakeholder needs, logistics, and the onsite experience.
  • Facilitate local content planning conversations and guide stakeholders toward clear decisions that support the selected story arc and intended attendee outcome.
  • Apply the reusable agenda frameworks and selection criteria created and approved by the Sr. Manager, Experiences; escalate for Manager approval any proposed deviation that would materially change the story arc, intended outcome, or standard experience.
  • Coordinate deliverables with Chapter Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Speaker Support to keep programs on schedule and ready for delivery.
  • Serve as the primary content partner and point of accountability for assigned chapters from recommendation and application of the approved story arc through connected delivery and post-event feedback.
  • Represent ASUG professionally in interactions with senior leaders, members, partners, and external stakeholders.

Program and Project Management

  • Manage multiple chapter content plans, agenda timelines, speaker placements, run-of-show development, emcee preparation, and planning milestones simultaneously.
  • Maintain accurate status updates, content documentation, decisions, and project tracking in the designated source-of-truth systems and tools.
  • Ensure deadlines are met for framework and story arc recommendation and approval, agenda customization, speaker placement, session information, scripts, transitions, prompts, and related content deliverables.
  • Establish clear handoffs to Speaker Support and other partners, proactively identify risks, gaps, or delays, and escalate or resolve issues with the appropriate owner.
  • Support onsite or virtual delivery as needed, ensuring the emcee is prepared to connect sessions, facilitate audience interaction, and guide the program’s through line.
  • Capture attendee, speaker, volunteer, and partner feedback; translate lessons learned into recommendations for future chapter activation; and share recurring patterns with the Sr. Chapter Producer to support consistent application and identify needs for process or framework review.

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.

  • Customer First: Puts the member and attendee experience at the center of all content decisions and works to deliver programming that creates measurable value.
